While it was just a TV show, that little speech at the beginning of the original Star Trek show really did do a good job of capturing our feelings about space. It is those feelings that drive our love of astronomy and our desire to learn more and more about it.

My practice of Spiritual Kung fu gives me an edge in my parenting. I have learned how to take the struggle out of parenting and maximize my parenting enjoyment. I use insights, skills and practices from this system of self-care/self-mastery to make my parenting job easier. As a result, I parent without struggle (even though I'm a single parent).
I know this because time and again I have ben able to rely on my Spiritual Kung fu insights, skills and practices to help me do better when my flaws come up in reaction to parenting stressors and frustrations. Using the strengths these practices instill in me, I am an example to my child that he respects and follows. He cooperates with me out of respect and rappart. Our day to day life together is harmonious and enjoyable for both of us. This is why I feel good as a parent.
I want all parents to enjoy their parenting experience. I know it's possible for parenting to be easy. I can help turn the struggle into ease and fulfillment.
Special note: The parenting ease I am refering to is outside of the extenuating circumstances of brain disorders, cognitive development disdorders and certain physical challenges that make parenting rarely easy.
I acknowledge that parents contending with these challenges can have a hard time of it no matter how skilled they are, and that while parenting in these circumstances can be made less stressful with supportive skills, it is rarely easy no matter how skilled a parent you are. Just as these parents need extra support, they deserve credit for handling an extra challenging parenting dynamic (even if they are struggling).
